Risk Disclosure

Last updated: 15 January 2026

Crypto-assets are speculative and volatile. You may lose some or all of the money you invest. Only use funds you can afford to lose, and make sure you understand the risks described below before relying on the Aethelgard Horizons platform.

1. Purpose of This Disclosure

This Risk Disclosure is provided to help you understand the material risks associated with trading and investing in digital assets and with using analytics tools that rely on automated models. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. It does not describe every possible risk.

2. Market Volatility

The prices of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital assets can change significantly within short periods, including within a single day. Prices may fall to zero. Historical price movements do not indicate future behaviour, and illustrative figures displayed on the platform are not projections or promises of returns.

3. Loss of Capital

You may lose the entire amount you commit. Losses can occur quickly and may exceed the value you expected. Fees, spreads, taxes and exchange costs can further reduce returns, even where the underlying asset price has not moved against you.

4. Limitations of Automated Analytics

Our platform presents data generated by software and statistical models. These models may contain errors, rely on incomplete or delayed data, misinterpret market conditions or fail under unusual circumstances. Model outputs are not financial advice and should never be the sole basis for a decision. Risk-management indicators reduce but do not eliminate exposure.

5. Liquidity Risk

Some digital assets may be difficult to sell quickly at a fair price, particularly during periods of stress. Displayed prices may not reflect the price at which you can actually transact.

6. Custody and Security Risk

Digital assets are typically held in wallets or accounts secured by private keys or credentials. If these are lost, stolen or compromised, assets may be irrecoverable. Aethelgard Horizons does not hold your digital assets unless we expressly state otherwise in writing. Scams, phishing and social-engineering attacks are common in this sector.

7. Third-Party and Operational Risk

Exchanges, wallets, data providers and blockchain networks may suffer outages, hacks, insolvency, forks or changes to protocol rules. Any of these events may affect access to the Service or the value of your holdings. We do not control third-party systems.

8. Regulatory and Legal Risk

The regulatory treatment of digital assets is evolving in Australia and elsewhere. Changes to law, taxation or licensing requirements may affect your ability to hold or deal in particular assets, or the availability of the Service in your jurisdiction. Some products may be financial products regulated by ASIC; you should check the current position before investing. For general consumer information, see the resources published by ASIC's MoneySmart service.

9. Tax Considerations

Dealings in digital assets may have tax consequences, including capital gains tax, income tax or GST implications. Records of transactions may be required. We do not provide tax advice. Please consult a registered tax agent or qualified adviser.

10. Leverage and Derivatives

If any feature of the Service relates to leveraged or derivative products, these carry an elevated risk of rapid losses that can exceed your initial deposit. Such products are unsuitable for many investors.

11. Your Responsibilities

You should assess your financial situation, investment objectives, experience and risk tolerance before acting on information from the Service. Diversify, avoid borrowing to invest, keep secure records and seek independent professional advice where appropriate.

12. Questions
